Information Technology

The updated Information Technology course leads students to master the latest environments, including Internet applications and design, apart from meeting traditional requirements for a computer career. This includes web applications that require enormous knowledge of components like web servers, use of web application tools, besides OOPS and JAVA, which is considered to be the de-facto language of the future. Students have greater opportunities in software development because of their excellent knowledge in Internet Science. Besides the job opportunities in the technology world, options are available to pursue higher studies in areas of networking, distributed systems, and web technologies.

Facilities
The computing laboratories consist of 4 labs, which together contain a mix of around 25 high-end server systems. The servers include the print servers, network file servers and database which support over 150 Linux, Unix and Windows based clients in the department, database servers and software servers. The college is a member of the Microsoft

Academic Alliance and as such has the complete range of Microsoft software for academic purpose. Apart from the Microsoft and Red Hat Linux software, the laboratory supports a variety of other software which includes over a dozen programming languages, development environments, advanced tools for graphics, numerical computing, CAD/CAM tools and VHDL design. The state-of-art facilities allow students to perform experiments and do research to reflect current industry needs. The laboratory also supports the department network facilities which include switched 100 Mbps connections to every server and workstation and also a 128 Kbps ISDN shared Internet connection available at every server and workstation.
