A nation is built by its teachers. Availability of efficient and quality teachers is the hall mark for national growth. With that in view, it has been decided that Adamas Institute of Teacher Education will be set up in 2011-12 for imparting one year B.Ed and subsequently one year M.Ed courses.
Adamas Institute of Teacher Education covering an area more than 2 acres is located in an institutional campus called Adamas Knowledge City. The institutional building will have a built up area of more than 40000 square feet. The institute will start functioning from the academic year 2011-12 with an initial intake of 100 students in the B. Ed course. Gradually the number of students will increase with additional intake capacity and also with introduction of M. Ed course in future. In addition to the class rooms and the library, the institute will have a multipurpose hall, ICT Resource Centre, Psychology Resource Centre, Art & Craft Resource Centre, Health and Physical Education Resource Centre and Science & Mathematics Resource Centre beside Seminar Rooms and other facilities.
The Institute will be governed by a duly constituted Governing Body in terms of the guidelines of the regulatory authorities’ i.e, National Council of Teacher Education and West Bengal State University.
The Institute has been proposed to be established under the approval of National council of Teacher Education. The application for approval is being submitted to Eastern Indian Regional Council of National council of Teacher Education.
The Institute is located at Barasat and thereby falls under the jurisdiction of West Bengal State University, Barasat. It is thus proposed that the Institute will be affiliated to West Bengal State University, Barasat, West Bengal, India.
It is proposed that 1 year B.Ed Course with an initial intake of 100 students will be introduced from the Academic year 2011-12. The syllabi prescribed by West Bengal State University, Barasat will be followed.
Admission will be held strictly on merit in terms of the guidelines of the regulatory authorities.
It has been planned that duly qualified and experienced teachers will be appointed to impart quality education to the students
The institute will have an well designed and spacious library housing adequate number of books, journals and other facilities.
Being situated within Adamas Knowledge City at Barasat, the institute will have the additional advantage of having unique central facilities like food court, meditation centre, seminar halls, open air auditorium etc besides its own facilities of spacious building, multipurpose playfield and parking space.
